The Parties of Deceit and Cowardice

Senator Bunning’s recent stand against the political hypocrisy in Washington brought in to focus the true nature of this country’s two dominant political parties. After agreeing to bring the spending offset issue to a vote Senator Bunning did relent and stop his filibuster but this episode highlighted why the public hold both parties in such low esteem.

For the Democrats it again shows how dishonest the party has become by saying they will pay as they go then spending money they don’t have.  Like the President repeatedly saying what they think the public wants to hear then doing just the opposite.  Honor and integrity no longer has a place in this party which is a very sad thing to say. The rank and file members should be up in arms because the motto of their Democrat Party has become “Win at Any Cost”. It is a disgrace that reflects on them and is eating away at the foundation of the party, eventually destroying it.

The Bunning episode also highlighted the continuing cowardice of the Republican Party. Instead of standing side by side with their fellow senator they gave only lukewarm support when asked and avoided the issue if they could. This inability to challenge the hypocrisy and deceit, with clear and concise arguments makes them look weak and ineffective. That is what makes them targets of the media and not just their positions on the issues. It’s well past the point Republicans should have found their voice and a spine.

It is the failure to voice the common sense logic of the truth by Republicans that has given birth to the Tea Party movement so that there are at least some willing to face down the progressive’s attempt to shred the constitution and the values that are the foundation of freedom. The left and their media allies fear them because they are common people that speak from the heart. They fear them because when they speak the vast majority recognizes them as one of their own. They are each other and thus recognize the truth when spoken.
